This page is dedicated to the memory of all those bass players that didn't get any credit or make any money. Some people would have you believe that bass players aren't entitled to make any money. But on these pages we will try to show you that that is not correct. Steve took up this instrument after studying the guitar for hours when the bass player in his brother Skip's band left in 1962 to return to his native Louisiana to hunt crawfish. Steve performed with the Kingsman, (no not that Kingsman!) for the next three years. In 1965 The Lovin’ Spoonful was born with Steve on bass. The world of bass playing would never be the same.

One of the Lovin' Spoonful’s musical influences was the Jim Kweskin Jug Band with Fritz Richmond on jug and wash tub bass. Steve was so impressed with this he took up photography. That’s why you’ll see lots of his pictures on this website. His advice to up and coming bass players is that if you want to succeed in rock and roll, take up photography.

Steve also loves sailing. And a lot of the influences in his path to success have been as a result of sailing around the Caribbean with no particular place to go.

So enter if you dare: commitment, achievement, accomplishment, success are just a page turn away.
